Civilization 6 Common Bugs and Problem Fixes.


Recently I just posted a Civilization VI Review, But as I’ve experienced I have had a few problems when playing on civilization, Usually The game crashes after turns, or the game never starts at all.  So, I decided to compile different problems you are encountering in Civilization VI and how to fix it.

Common Problems and fixes

  • Right click Civilization on your desktop>Properties>Compatibility.
    • Set your compatibility to Windows 8
    • Always Run in Administrator
  • Civilization does not support 32-bit windows. Check your windows system by opening File Explorer.
    • Open Any Folder/ Open File Explorer.
    • Right Click “This PC”
    • Click on Properties
    • Look for System Type.
  • Verify files integrity of civilization 6
    • Go to Steam
    • Right Click Civilization 6
    • Click on Properties
    • Click on Local Files Tab
    • You will find “Verify Files Integrity” Below
    • Wait. It May take up a lot of time so you should just be patient.
  • Update your Graphics Card Driver
    • Also make sure that you fit the minimum requirements for Civilization 6.
        • OS: Windows 7 64bit / 8.1 64bit / 10 64bit.
        • Processor: Intel Core i3 2.5 Ghz or AMD Phenom II 2.6 Ghz or greater.
        • Memory: 4 GB RAM.
        • Hard drive: 12 GB or more.
        • DVD-Rom: Required for disc-based installation.
        • Video card: 1 GB DirectX 11 Video Card (AMD 5570 or Nvidia 450)
      • If you have a potato PC then just play other franchises of Civilization Instead.

Missing DLL Files

If you are missing dll files you may want to reinstall your DirectX and then restart,
or you can manually download the files at

Annoying Crackling Sound

Just Downgrade Civilization 6’s Sound quality to 16 bits by going to the ssetting in the main menu of the game and then the sound tab.
